Important Reminder for Full time grade 12 SAIL Students

Important Reminder for Full time SAIL Grade 12 Students born in 2005 or earlier and completing the 2018 Graduation Program

If you are a school-aged Full Time (COMPASS) SAIL student born in 2006, 2007, 2008 or later, you are now registered to complete the new 2023 Graduation Program. This program requires that you complete an Indigenous-focused course before you graduate.

It is especially important for current Grade 12 students to review their courses to make certain that they will meet this requirement before the end of the school year.

SAIL offers several options for you to consider, including BC First Peoples 12 (a Social Studies course) and English First Peoples 12 (replaces English Studies 12). At the grades 10 and 11 levels, SAIL offers English First Peoples 10 and English First Peoples 11. Please make certain that you complete at least one of these courses so that you meet the requirements of the 2023 Graduation Program.

Please be aware that you have until June 2024 to complete the requirements of the 2018 Graduation Program. Beginning in July 2024, if you have not completed your graduation, you will be moved into the new 2023 Graduation Program and will be required to complete an Indigenous-focused course as part of the new graduation requirements. Once you turn 18 you are also eligible to complete the Adult Graduation Program.
