Online is part of the Surrey Academy of Innovative Learning (SAIL). We use inquiry and project based learning as a foundation for our online courses. All courses have online teacher support as well as face-to-face teacher help.
SAIL Online offers over 80 online courses at the Grade 10 – 12 level. Grade 8 & 9 full-time students who are not already enrolled in the STEMX or STEAM Academies may register for our COMPASS program.
SAIL’s SPRINGBOARD program offers a limited number of courses that run from April to August. Students have the convenience and flexibility to combine their spring/summer learning with other activities they may take on. For additional program and intake information, click here.
SPRINGBOARD registration begins March 2017.
Students may start their courses at any time and have until early June to complete their studies; however, they must stay active in their courses each week. Students must manage their time while they learn independently.
There are NO tuition costs to Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants residing in BC, including full-time students, part-time students (cross-enrolled – attending another secondary school in British Columbia at the same time that they take a course with Sail Online), and non- graduated adults.
Enrollment for full-time Grade 8 and 9 students is also free. Please note that Grade 8 and Grade 9 students may not be cross-enrolled.
Students must have access to their own learning devices and computer access with an Internet connection. Google Chrome works best with our learning management system. Courses with textbooks will require a refundable deposit.
International students attending Surrey Public schools are eligible to take courses at a cost of $800.00 per course.
Graduated adults are no longer eligible to enrol.
