Course Timelines & Report Cards

Students may start their courses at anytime and work to complete them based on their specific needs and timeline. SAIL provides 5 report cards per year. If you wish to receive a final mark on a specific report card you can strive to meet the specific deadline for that report period. If you don’t meet your deadline, you can work towards the next one. University Entrance Requirements and Online Courses

This is an important reminder for grade 11 and 12 students to be aware that some post-secondary schools may have unique deadlines that you must meet if you are taking online courses. These deadlines may include not only course completion deadlines, but also interim marks deadlines based upon 50% course completion. Students and parents should do their own research in order to determine these deadlines, and students need to make certain they are completing the necessary coursework to meet them.

SAIL has several reporting periods throughout the school year: November, January, April, June and August. Students need to complete any course work required to meet university deadlines in time to have their marks reported on the preceding SAIL report card.

If you have any questions about this, please speak with your home school counsellor. Full time SAIL students should speak with SAIL’s counsellor Mr Sturn (

Important information for students applying to UBC

UBC requires students to have interim marks available mid March (often March 15th—see UBC’s admissions web site for more information). In order to meet this deadline, students will need to complete coursework and testing representing 50% of the course by the January report card deadline (mid January—please speak with your teacher about this date).

  • November 15, 2022: Deadline to apply for an International Scholars Award (but deadline to apply for UBC admission is December 1, 2022)
  • December 1, 2022:  Deadline to apply for students seeking first-round offers and consideration for major entrance scholarships
  • January 15, 2023: Final admissions application deadline
  • March 15, 2023: Submit interim grades for in-progress online course(s).These grades must be based on completion of at least 50% of your course. This means that you will need to have completed at least 50% of your course (coursework, quizzes/tests/exams) by our January 13th 2023 work submission deadline.
